Traditional private clinical dietetics can be expensive and time-consuming. Inspired by the high-impact models that work so well in my NHS role, I’ve designed a streamlined, economical way for you to access professional health clarity without the 12-week waitlist or the premium price tag.
Virtual Root Cause Clinic appointments are now live for patients across the UK. Same clinical approach, same one-page health action plan, from wherever you are.
The goal is 45 minutes of dedicated clinical focus, grounded in your body composition data. One personalised plan. Immediate action.
This clinic is designed for those living high-responsibility lives who need to feel like themselves again. It is ideal if you are navigating:
To keep these sessions high-impact and affordable, we strip away the post-session admin and focus entirely on you.
01 — Before your session
Once you book, I will send you a health and lifestyle questionnaire. By sharing your medical history and current diet with me in advance, I can have this information ready to use during your session.
02 — The InBody scan (15 seconds)
You stand on the InBody 270 barefoot and hold two handles for 15 seconds. It measures visceral fat level, skeletal muscle mass, body fat percentage, and metabolic rate — the data behind how you feel, made visible.
03 — The consultation (45 mins)
I work through your scan results and clinical history together, connecting your metabolic picture to your symptoms. You can ask anything about supplements, specific concerns, or how to fuel a demanding life. We build your plan together.
04 — What you leave with
You leave with a personalised metabolic action plan covering the specific nutrition, movement, and lifestyle changes most likely to shift your picture — grounded in your scan results, not generic advice.
Included with every appointment
Each scan maps your muscle, visceral fat and metabolic engine score, visit by visit. The numbers power the advice: Dr Rebecca Hiscutt PhD reads them alongside your history and symptoms, so your plan is personalised to you.

The InBody 270 is a medical-grade body composition analyser. You stand on the device barefoot and hold two handles for approximately 15 seconds. It measures visceral fat level, skeletal muscle mass, body fat percentage, and estimated metabolic rate. Dr Hiscutt PhD interprets the results with you and uses them to build your plan. Read more about what the scan measures and why it matters.
Yes. Virtual Root Cause Clinic appointments (30 minutes, £60) are available for patients across the UK. The clinical approach is the same and you leave with a personalised action plan, though the InBody scan is only available in person.
All bookings are online only. Use the booking link on this page. You’ll receive a health questionnaire after booking so Dr Hiscutt PhD can prepare before your session.
A standard private dietetic appointment typically costs £120 or more and does not include clinical body composition analysis. Dr Hiscutt PhD keeps the clinic as accessible as possible while including the InBody 270 scan as standard — because the data it provides makes the consultation significantly more targeted.
The InBody scan takes approximately 15 seconds, leaving the full 45 minutes for one-to-one consultation. Because the scan results give Dr Hiscutt PhD a concrete metabolic starting point before the clinical conversation begins, the time goes further than it otherwise would.
Perimenopause and menopause symptoms, fatigue and energy crashes, brain fog, migraines and recurrent headaches, joint pain and aches, metabolic markers (blood pressure, blood glucose, pre-diabetes, weight changes), and gut symptoms including bloating and IBS. Dr Hiscutt PhD takes a root-cause approach, looking at what is driving symptoms, not just naming them.
Yes. The same root-cause, metabolic approach works for men in midlife. Low energy, weight around the middle, broken sleep and low drive are often metabolic rather than a sudden drop in testosterone, and that means they respond to the same work. Read about men’s metabolic health and the male menopause.
Visceral fat is the fat around your abdominal organs, scored 1 to 20. It’s the fraction most linked to insulin resistance and long-term health risk, and it tends to respond fastest to dietary change, often the first visible win. Skeletal muscle mass is your body’s most metabolically active tissue: it drives how many calories you burn at rest, and it naturally declines through the menopause transition as oestrogen falls, unless you actively work to protect it. Estimated metabolic rate tracks muscle closely, so a falling rate alongside a stable weight often points to muscle change rather than anything you’re doing wrong. Together, these numbers explain what the scales alone can’t: two people at the same weight can have very different compositions, and very different levels of metabolic risk.
Many people notice initial changes, such as steadier energy or better sleep, within the first couple of weeks, particularly once blood sugar patterns start to stabilise. Changes in InBody metrics such as visceral fat usually take longer to show and are easiest to track across a few appointments. Results vary by individual, and Dr Hiscutt PhD will talk through a realistic timeline for your specific goals at your first appointment.
Yes. Every Root Cause Clinic appointment, in person or virtual, is with Dr Rebecca Hiscutt PhD, RD directly. There is no handover between different clinicians, so each appointment builds on what she already knows about your history and your plan.
