To mark World Menopause Day, I’m running a special Women’s Health Gathering at Twelve08 in Tickenham, North Somerset, between Clevedon and Nailsea, on Sunday 18 October, 12 to 1.30pm.
Tired all the time, disturbed sleep, putting on weight around your waist, increased anxiety, more aches and pains? These are the concerns women bring to my Root Cause Clinic most often, and what you eat plays a part in every one of them. As your hormones shift through perimenopause and menopause, the meals you’ve always eaten can affect your energy, sleep, gut and weight differently.
Metabolic health can always be improved, and as it improves, so does your experience of menopause.
This year the International Menopause Society has chosen chronic pain in midlife as the theme for World Menopause Day. Aches and pains come up in my Root Cause Clinic all the time, so we’ll look at the part food and muscle play in how your joints feel.
What happens on the day
This is a hands-on session, built to be seen and tasted.
- Your breakfast, in sugar cubes. Why the same breakfast can start to cause more of a problem in midlife.
- Real glucose data. What blood sugar actually does across an ordinary day.
- Why muscle matters. Muscle helps keep blood sugar steadier, and supports your joints, mood and focus.
- A live food demo. Breakfast ideas, a lunch box you can put together in 30 seconds, a tray bake you prepare ahead and keep in the freezer, and simple snacks.
- Tasters and time to chat. Every taster is labelled with its allergens.
There’s plenty of time for your questions. You’ll leave with practical strategies you can start using straight away, more confidence about what to eat, and real hope that things can feel easier.
Who it’s for
Whether you’re just starting to make changes or already well on your way, you’ll leave with something new to try. Come on your own or bring a friend.
