Menopause

Find your way back to feeling like you

Tired all the time. Words that slip away mid‑sentence. Aches and pains that have crept in from nowhere. A body that has stopped responding to the things that always worked.

Perimenopause and menopause change how your body runs, and those changes are metabolic as much as hormonal. Blood sugar, muscle, sleep and stress load all shift together, which is why the symptoms feel scattered while the cause underneath is often shared. It also means there is real, practical work we can do, whatever stage you’re at.

I’m Dr Rebecca Hiscutt PhD, a Registered Dietitian with over 25 years in clinical nutrition. I guide women through the hormonal changes of midlife with a metabolic lens, in clinic in North Somerset and online across the UK.

Scattered symptoms, shared roots

For years, your hormones acted like a quiet metabolic shield, keeping blood sugar steady, fat in safer places and inflammation low. From the mid‑forties that shield thins, and what surfaces is the state of your metabolic health underneath, often under quiet strain for decades. Sleep becomes lighter and less forgiving. Energy, mood, concentration and confidence all sit downstream of those shifts.

The root causes can be found, measured and worked on. That is the whole job of this clinic.

We start by exploring what is actually driving your symptoms, measure what has changed, and build a plan that is personalised to you. You see the same dietitian at every appointment, so nothing gets lost between sessions and your plan evolves as you do.

Rebalancing your metabolic health supports you through menopause whether you decide to use HRT or not. If you already have HRT in place and still feel unwell, this is the other half of the picture: the blood sugar, muscle, sleep and stress-load work that prescriptions alone don’t cover. Everything here runs alongside your GP or specialist, never instead of them.
